About me!

Hi! I'm Sam! I'm 19 years old and I'm from the US south/appalachia/midwest/the everything and nothing state that is Kentucky. I go to school at Oberlin College in Ohio right now, though! I'm studying studio art and education, but also maybe math? Who knows. Certainly not I.

I started learning HTML in June of 2025, entirely through fucking around and finding out. This website is just a fun side project for me to work on, and also a place to document thoughts sorta like a journal. And also a little digital home. I'm a big fan of old Internet culture, and the way it's being replicated today, so I wanted to join in :3

  • Animal: Extant is penguins or possums. Extinct is spinosaurus, cryolophosaurus, or trilobites. (What can I say? I'm a theropod guy.)

Hobbies and such!

  • Art. This is more of a passion than a hobby but whatever. I particularly enjoy printmaking and illustration but I also like to pick up random mediums. Pretty soon I'm taking a class on fiber arts!
  • Music. I play a bunch of instruments! My main instruments are violin/fiddle and guitar. I'm still learning how to play banjo, mandolin, and piano, and I sing a little here and there. One of these days I'll write a song...
  • Collecting. I collect animal bones (found ones, and I clean them myself!), soda bottles, and coins. Please ask me about any of my collections. I love to talk about them.
  • Rollerblading. This is a pretty new one. I picked it up in October of 2024 and then caved and got my own pair in December of 2024. I'm basically still a beginner, but I'm picking up a couple tricks here and there!
