7.20.2025: I'm back... oops!
Hi blog! It's been a while... oopsies!
Sorry for not posting for a little while! I've been really busy with work and Artfight, and I've neglected the website a little. Here's a life update for you!
Work has been fine! More of the same, basically. I really like this job. It's way better than food service--I feel like I'm actually doing something. Plus the dogs are really cute. Here's a picture of one of them (Thor), and a picture of a shed I painted recently.
I'm kind of ready to be done though. I'm itching to get back to school. I miss my friends, and Kaia, and my classes (the studios... longing sigh...) and I'm so ready to move into my dorm. I only have 2 and a half more weeks of work, though! I can get through it!
On June 21st (a while ago, I know, but I never actually posted anything about it!) I went to the ren faire with Harper and some of her high school friends! (Which, they're my friends now, but I called them her friends for clarity.) I showed up without an outfit, and was a little sad that I didn't dress up, but I ended up buying a red scarf and a pirate hat and I ended up looking a little like a pirate!
Ren faire outfits are built over time, apparently, so next time I go I'm going to get a prop sword or a prop gun, and then the time after that I'll get accessories, and the time after that, boots... and so on until I have a fully built pirate outfit! It was a really fun experience, and I want to go again sometime!
I spent a week in Iowa visiting Kaia from June 28th through July 7th. Originally, the trip was only going to be a week, but there were flight delay issues, so I ended up staying an extra 3 days! I was not complaining. We went to the zoo, and the Des Moines Art Center, and the mall, and we did 4th of July stuff, and spent a lot of time just hanging out. It was really nice. Long distance is sooooo hard so being able to spend a week with Kaia was really good. They're actually going to come visit in August, which is exciting! I didn't take a lot of pictures, because I was focused on just being in the moment, but here's a picture of Kaia's dog, Luna.
Other than that, my summer has mostly been spent hanging out with Harper! We went to a craft fair a week or so ago with Avonell when they visited for the weekend, and recently I went to go see her in her theater company's production of Cinderella! Here's a picture of a weird pig I saw at the craft fair, plus me and her after Cinderella.
Pretty soon I'm gonna try and get the art section of the website up and running. Also, I'm working on an essay about the Dadaism of Instagram reels (for my own entertainment), so I'll post it here eventually! Okay, that's all for now!
