Why a website?

Well, for one, I'm a nerd.

Okay, serious answer now. I've been wanting to start a blog for a little while since I don't have a smartphone any more. I love writing letters, but they're a little hard to keep up with. I love writing long life-update emails to my friends and family, but they lack novelty. A blog was a perfect in-between, and it's public so I can share it with anyone, including internet friends!

I was dissatisfied with my options, though. Website builders don't offer enough flexibility for me--and I'm a picky guy--and the ones that do cost money. Lord knows I'm a broke college student. Creating my own website from scratch was the only option of course LOL

I also kinda wanted a difficult project to work on throughout the summer. I'm sort of bored, since all my friends live at minimum an hour away and I don't have anything to doomscroll on.

Welcome to my weird little website!

This site is EXTREMELY under construction.

I'm planning on using this as a blog-type thing. As you might know (if you know me) I recently abandoned my smartphone in lieu of a flip phone. I'm coping with the lack of various aspects of smartphone life by starting up a personal website!

I'm hoping to set up a couple things: an about me section, a blog (with just standard blog posts about the goings-on of my life), a section for my art, and a media reviews and ramblings section. I'm sure this will develop (devolve?) pretty quickly as I figure out more things.

I know basically nothing about html and CSS so developing this is a big undertaking. It's going to take... a while before things are up and running how I'd like them. My apologies if the website is ugly or broken, I am probably at my laptop crying because my code won't work.

Recent website updates

Revamped the media section. You can look at it now but there's nothing there
Separated these two boxes on the right sidebar
Set up a tag system for the blog :3
Kinda got the media section set up. But don't look at it rn it's a work in progress
Changed the design for the blog section and the about me section to be cuter

Rework the homepage to be better
Code the art section (figure out lightbox image galleries?)
Figure out how to change the font
Scan art and start uploading it to the art section
Start working on media lists
